Momo Ayase, still smarting from a harsh rejection, is lost in her thoughts when she notices a boy being harassed. Acting on impulse, she steps in to help him. Grateful for her unexpected kindness, the boy—who is deeply fascinated by the occult—tries to strike up a conversation, assuming she shares his interests. But Ayase quickly shuts him down, declaring her firm belief in ghosts instead. This sparks a heated debate between them, each insisting their own beliefs are the truth. To settle the dispute, they make a wager: Ayase will investigate a site tied to the occult, while the boy explores a place rumored to be haunted. As they each venture into their chosen locations, they make a startling discovery—both the occult and ghosts are undeniably real, proving neither of them was wrong after all. Their encounter forces them to confront a world far stranger than either had imagined.
