Yogiri Takatou, a high school senior, was on a school field trip when everything went wrong. He woke up to find a dragon attacking their bus, with only him and his panicked classmate, Tomochika Dannoura, still inside. The others had apparently been given special powers by a woman named Sion, who called herself a sage, and they escaped, leaving those without abilities—like Yogiri and Tomochika—as bait for the dragon.
