Ah, how wonderful it is to be alive. Kurogane Rikuto, a high school boy with no place to call home, was labeled a failure by his adoptive parents, tormented by bullies, and overlooked by his teachers. He had nothing—no refuge at home, no comfort at school.
“Life is shit. I might as well die.”
Just as he stood on the school rooftop, ready to end it all, the world twisted into chaos. Monsters—goblins, orcs, slimes—burst from students’ smartphones, turning the school into a nightmare of blood and screams.
In games, these creatures were weak, laughable. But in reality, where magic didn’t exist and humans had no strength or skills to fight back, they became unstoppable horrors.
Rikuto, spared only because his bullies had smashed his phone, watched as his tormentors and teachers died gruesome deaths. Society crumbled before his eyes. And in that moment, he realized—he wanted to live.
Then, a goblin raised its club behind him—
And so began the desperate struggle for survival of one ordinary boy, thrust into a world of unimaginable terror.
