Hajime Isayama created Attack on Titan, a gripping story about humanity’s desperate struggle against monstrous giants called Titans. The manga first launched in 2009 and has maintained its popularity for over six years, with expectations that it will only grow stronger. Editor Kuwakubo Shintaro estimates there are still about three years’ worth of unpublished chapters left in this wildly successful series.
The story unfolds in an alternate world where, a hundred years earlier, terrifying humanoid giants ranging from 3 to 15 meters tall nearly wiped out civilization. These grotesque creatures devoured most of humanity, leaving only a few thousand survivors. To protect themselves, the remaining people constructed three massive walls around their last stronghold, shielding them from the Titans’ relentless hunger.
