Choi Si-woo, a boy struggling with his weight, spends his nights running in circles around his house. One night, past midnight, he meets an old man on a walking trail. Without warning, the old man throws a straw backpack over him. When Si-woo regains his bearings, he finds himself in the vast ruins of an ancient Korean hanok.
Dark figures stand silently around the edges of the courtyard, watching him. The old man explains that once every 666 years, a ceremony is held to choose the king of Yokai. Every monster in the world holds one ticket to this event—and Si-woo, unknowingly, is a half-human, half-goblin hybrid, the last of his kind. As the only one left with goblin blood, he alone carries the entry pass.
And so begins the journey of Choi Si-woo, the boy caught between two worlds.
