For generations, people have whispered about terrifying demons that stalk the forests at night, preying on humans. Because of these dark tales, the villagers never dare to leave their homes after sunset. Some say a mysterious demon slayer also walks in the shadows, hunting these vicious creatures.
After losing his father, young Tanjirou becomes the sole provider for his mother and five younger siblings. Despite their hardships, they manage to find joy in their simple life together. But one day, tragedy strikes—Tanjirou returns home to discover his entire family brutally murdered, with only his sister Nezuko left alive… though she has been transformed into a demon.
As despair overwhelms him, a demon hunter named Giyuu Tomioka appears, ready to slay Nezuko. Yet, in a shocking turn, Tanjirou and his sister fiercely protect each other. Witnessing their unbreakable bond and sensing Tanjirou’s potential, Giyuu spares them and sends the siblings to his former teacher for training.
