For years, mysterious labyrinths have emerged across Japan, unleashing dangerous creatures and chaos upon the modern world. This phenomenon birthed a new occupation—Adventurers—individuals who wield monster cards to summon creatures and battle through these deadly dungeons. Kitagawa Utamaro, known as Maro, is an ordinary high school student who decides to become an adventurer after witnessing an old friend rise in popularity simply by joining the profession.
Yet Maro quickly learns that merely calling himself an adventurer won’t bring him fame or recognition. Unlike others, he struggles with weak and unreliable monster cards, forcing him to rely on sheer determination to survive the treacherous labyrinths. His journey is far from glamorous, filled with challenges that test his resolve at every turn.
Despite the odds, Maro refuses to give up, driven by the hope that one day, he too can stand out among his peers. His path is uncertain, but with persistence, he might just carve his own place in this dangerous new world. The question remains—can an average guy like him truly become a successful adventurer and change his fate? Only time will tell.
