The story follows Monk Sanzang from *Journey to the West*, who unexpectedly time-slips into modern-day Korea. Having spent her life battling yokai, she never expected her greatest challenge to come from a single man.
Originally, Sanzang and her disciples—Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Sha Wujing—journeyed to the Western regions under Buddha’s command. While her companions sought godhood as a reward, Sanzang longed for a simple human life, free from the constraints of Buddhism. However, just as she was being forcibly taken to Heaven, she spotted a mysterious tunnel leading back to the human world and escaped—only to land on Jeju Island in South Korea.
There, she crosses paths with a man named Lee Hyun. Now begins the chaotic and fiery romance between the time-displaced monk, now called Hyeonjeong, and the tsundere Lee Hyun!
