Two People

My existence has been divided between two individuals, forcing me to lead a double life. Each day, I must wear a separate identity, shifting roles as the sun rises and sets. The person I am under daylight contrasts sharply with who I become after dark. This constant transformation weighs heavily on my soul, leaving me torn between two worlds. By morning, I adopt one face, playing a part scripted for daylight hours. When night falls, another version of myself emerges, unrecognizable from the day’s persona. The duality exhausts me, yet I have no choice but to continue this fractured existence. Neither identity feels entirely mine—both were imposed upon me without consent. My true self remains hidden, buried beneath layers of pretense. Every sunrise and sunset marks another cycle of this exhausting performance. I long for the day when I can reclaim my singular, authentic being.
